  • How frequent / what is your average PACU hold time?
  • What is your percentage of preop readiness at 0600 on the day of surgery (H&P, Consent).
  • How frequently is regional anesthesia used? Preop / Post op blocks?

  • How do you make OR case staffing      decisions? 
  • How do you measure staff proficiency? 
  • What shifts do you maintain? 
  • Do you know where your clinical staff are spending their time? 
  • Do you know how many staff are retiring within 1-3 years?   


  • Do you have a steering committee? Who regularly attends (not just invited)?

  • What is your process for new items requested by surgeons? Are items used prior to review?

  • What is your contract accuracy status? Is there a process for reconciling      supplies and contracts? Constructs?
  • What is your percentage of off contract purchasing?
  • Do you have a process for refusal of payment if off contract? 
  • Do you have any gainsharing?
